If you are interested in paper, fiber arts, or collage, this workshop invites you to explore combining natural materials such as pressed plants, twigs and vines, seeds, bark, flat stones, shells, and feathers with a variety of threads and cords, papers, vintage buttons, and tiny beads. You will create small assemblages that can be joined to make a banner or prayer flag, larger pieces to frame in shadow boxes, and unique collages to use in book arts or card-making.
You will learn common embroidery stitches, explore an array of ephemera, and receive technical guidance that comes together in a rich mixed media experience. Designing with natural objects offers a playful, wabi-sabi approach that encourages curiosity and frees your creative instincts.
