Meg Kennedy is a calligrapher and book artist who lives in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania and has been teaching for 30+ years. She is on the board of the Philadelphia Calligrapher’s Society and has had various artworks in exhibits throughout the US and in Italy. As a freelance artist, she does commissioned documents and calligraphic broadsides for a variety of corporate, institutional, and individual clients. In addition to teaching and selling hand-bound volumes, she has created more than 60 artist’s books which incorporate lettering art, painting, illustration, and collage. She has taught for the Philadelphia Museum of Art, PA Council on the Arts, the School District and Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, and Kutztown University. She co-authored Building a Book, Binding a Poem: Artists’ Books in the Classroom, 2010, and has been an artist in residence at more than 25 elementary and secondary schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and her woodblock prints are represented by The Cove Gallery, Wellfleet, MA.
