Whether youve never tried calligraphy or are a beginner who wants to improve, this class is for you. Explore letterforms, spacing, and the simple flourishing of a graceful Italic style that originated in Renaissance Italy. The closest hand to our own script penmanship, italic calligraphy is a beautiful way to begin your calligraphic journey.

Student Supply List:

• At least one pen holder—wood or plastic     
• Speedball nibs: C2, C3, C4  (if you are left-handed, purchase LC2, LC3, LC4)
• Bottle of Higgins Eternal black calligraphy ink  ·   
• Pad of graph paper, 8 squares/inch, preferably Bienfang or Canson (8½ x 11”)  
• Pencil
• White eraser
• Ruler   
• Pigma Micron black marker, size 01, 02, or PN  
• Optional:  if you have other calligraphy pens that you’d like to use, bring them.
