Defeat the intimidation of a blank white sheet of paper and create surface designs on paper. Explore more than a dozen techniques and play with color, texture, gestural marks, graphic tools, and a variety of media. These decorated sheets of paper can be used for individual artwork, collage, bookbinding, journals, and artist’s books. What could be more fun than spending time creating playgrounds?  

Supplies:

• $15 supply fee payable to instructor
• Metal ruler
• X-acto knife & extra blades
• cutting mat
• pencil
• eraser
• scissors
• a few Pigma Micron pens (PN or #5) in black, brown, or navy
• paint brushes (small, medium, and large; synthethic and/or bristle but not Sable)
• china marker (any color)
• 4 full sheets of watercolor paper (HP or CP), 90# is preferable but no heavier than 140# OR a pad of WC paper, at least 9 x 12”.  
• IF YOU HAVE: Gelli plates, any size, rubber brayer, letter opener, fettling knife, or non-serrated butter knife (for tearing paper)    
• If you want to take notes, bring a notebook.
