For members and students who have been approved by the Executive Director and who have previous Raku experience. The Guild is monitored by Marcia Reiver, who organizes the firing schedule around current members availability. There is no set schedule of meetings and there is no instruction provided. Please contact the office if you are interested in participating in the Guild. The mission of the Raku Guild is to provide the opportunity for advanced potters to work together to build, glaze, and fire ceramic work. Because the firing process is physically arduous you must be able to lift 25 lbs, pull your own work from the kiln safely, and withstand exposure to extreme heat, fire, and smoke. Due to the risk of physical injury during firing participants must meet these conditions and follow the monitors instructions, failure to do so will result in your participation being cancelled. In order to registrer for the guild you must acknowledge the risks involved, and agree to hold Main Line Art Center harmless from any injuries incurred during firing. Please contact the office if you are interested in participating in the Guild.
