In this Watercolor Botanical class we will learn basic watercolor skills, colored pencils, graphite techniques how to do preliminary drawing, preparation for the original painting. We will be observing and drawing from life or from a photo. You can bring your plant that you would like to paint or use one of mine. During class we shall discuss how to build volume, texture and do composition. The class is for all levels. Join me for fun and come to expand your knowledge and love for nature wonders. You can bring your IPad if you have photos on it of favorite TULIPS and BRANCHES to paint from. You can bring your specimens of branches, leaves and twigs so we can paint them from life.
Student Supply List:
- Paper: Watercolor paper smooth surface, hot press preferable, size of paper: 19/24 inches or 11/14 inches, paper could be Arches 22/30 inches and can be cut in half, or other watercolor paper 140 lb or 300 lb. Strathmore 400 WC paper or Canson Montvale WC Paper brand are fine. (The paper is preferably to be Hot Press, so more details can be rendered) Tracing paper: 9/12 inches or bigger
- Porcelain plate for mixing colors
- Paper towels or a small cotton cloth
- Pencils: H, 2H , B, HB, 2B
- Kneaded eraser
- Pencil Sharpener
- Jar for watercolor
- Brushes: Round brushes synthetics for watercolor, sizes: 00, 0, and 1,2,4,6 And a brush for mixing color, that is inexpensive.
- Colored Pencils: Derwen and Polychromos Colored pencils, or Faber Castell Paint: you can bring a set of watercolor like Winsor & Newton professional or colors in tubes with basic color such as: Lemon Yellow, New Gamboge, Permanent Rose, Scarlet Lake, Alizarin Crimson, Winsor Violet, Prussian blue, Ultramarine Blue, Sap Green, Manganese Blue and any other colors that you would like to have
