Expand your watercolor skills and discover new ways to bring your paintings to life! In this class, youll build a strong repertoire of techniques while exploring special effects, composition, and the expressive possibilities of watercolor.
Topics may include creating the illusion of light and texture, edge control, cast shadows, value relationships, volumetric space, color mixing with a limited palette, and a variety of special effects. Youll have the opportunity to explore a range of subjects, including landscapes, portraits, still lifes, figures, and abstract work.
Individual projects are encouraged, allowing you to pursue your own interests while developing your technical and creative abilities. Classes include both group and individualized instruction, along with supportive discussions that foster learning and artistic growth. Nancy will also share occasional short PowerPoint presentations on topics that deepen your understanding of watercolor and painting.
