Explore mixed media art in this spring workshop by combining painting with other mediums, moving beyond standard collage approaches, and addressing questions such as: How can I incorporate fiber into my artwork without it seeming crafty or overly decorative? Can natural materials blend well with the paints I use? What are some materials Ive never thought of trying that have great potential?
Well begin by experimenting with various mediums chosen by you, exploring different techniques to create unique textures while balancing painting and drawing mediums. Through one-on-one discussions and group activities, well blend different elements in a fun and engaging way. In the initial sessions, our focus will be on experimentation and building texture in our first piece. Subsequently, well work towards creating a final well-balanced mixed-media painting that you will be proud of.
During the workshop, Ill also demonstrate techniques and materials from my own artworks. Our goal is to create a mixed-media painting that showcases your painting skills and creative use of materials. By the end, youll have a deeper understanding of paint and materials and a painting that reflects your vision.
This workshop is open to all skill levels, especially those interested in expanding their use of mixed media art.
