Learn oil and acrylic painting techniques, including surface preparation, color mixing, paint-making, traditional rabbit skin glue surface preparation, and a variety of gesso applications. Create several paintings and celebrate color as you explore line, shape, form, and composition.

Supplies:

• At least 2 canvases, 16″ x 20″
• Set of acrylic or oil paints, at least the following colors: 
  
  • ivory black
  • titanium white
  • cadmium red
  • cadmium yellow
  • cobalt or prussian blue)
• Variety of brush sizes from 1/2” flat to 3” flat. Hog hair bristle brushes, large round ones
• Odorless solvents for cleaning if using oil, like gamsol. Please do not bring turpentine!
• Coil jar (optional from Blick), or 3 jars about salsa sized

Students can also opt to pay the instructor directly for roll canvas, gesso and extra paints. This will be discussed in class.
