Residency for Artists with Disabilities

Main Line Art Center’s Residency for Artists with Disabilities provides local, emerging artists with space to work, mentorship, resources to create original artwork, and a public space to exhibit their artwork.

Residency Structure:

Residents work with a Teaching Artist Mentor to target artistic goals and have the opportunity to be a guest artist in our classes. Resident exhibitions will be held in the Center’s Welcome Gallery. Residents will also create a piece of art for the Center’s permanent collection at the culmination of their residency.

What’s included:

  • 5 month residency
  • Space in our studios to work
  • Culminating exhibition
  • $2,000 resident stipend
  • All supplies provided
  • Mentorship from a Teaching Artist
  • Guest artist opportunities in the Center’s classes

This Residency is for Artists who are:

  • 18 years or older in the greater Philadelphia area
  • Beginning their artistic journey
  • Looking for a public platform to share their perspective and experience as an artist with disabilities
  • Interested in working with a mentor to develop their craft
