Bring simple still life setups to life as you create one alla prima painting each session. You’ll focus on vibrant color mixing, experiment with a variety of palettes, and build solid compositions using subjects like fruit, flowers, and everyday objects. If you’re more advanced, you can challenge yourself by working from your own compositions, setups, or reference photos.

Paints
Recommended brands:
- M. Graham (made with walnut oil and completely solvent-free)
- Winsor & Newton (avoid Winton, which is student grade)
- Other high-quality brands such as Rembrandt are also excellent.
Essential Colors:
- Titanium White – 200 ml tube (you’ll use this the most)
- 37 ml tubes of:
- Burnt Sienna
- Ultramarine Blue
- Pthalo Turquoise or Cerulean or Manganese
- Alizarin Crimson
- Cadmium Red or Scarlet Lake
- Cadmium Yellow Light or Winsor Lemon
- Cadmium Yellow Medium or Winsor Yellow Deep
- Raw Umber
- Optional / Expanded Palette
- Burnt Umber
- Yellow Ochre
- Pthalo Green or Emerald Green

Brushes:
- Princeton 6300 Series Brights – 2 brushes in different sizes (e.g., #2, #6, #10)
- 1–2 fine round brushes for detail work

- Palette – disposable, wood, plexiglass, or DIY glass palette
