Ivan J. Felder III is a Philadelphia-born experimental sculptor, painter, and educator who focuses his work on themes of personal perception and ulterior representations. Felder’s subjects examine the difference between how one views their own role in society and how society ascribes roles to a body. By emphasizing the occupation of space and scale, these caricatures are, in a way, parts of Felder himself, outwardly existing as facsimiles of his ways of seeing, moving, being, and being perceived in the world.
