Originally from New Jersey, Marsiella Catanoso is a ceramic artist creating functional pottery. Marsiella graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2011 with BFA in Ceramics with a minor in Art History. In 2012, she participated in a short summer residency program as an assistant at Watersheld Center for the Ceramic Arts in Maine. Later that fall, she enrolled at Clemson University as a post bac student, furthering her education within the ceramic field. During fall of 2012, she was lucky enough to participate in a work exchange program at the Arrowmont School of Craft in Gatlinburg, TN. In 2013, she moved to Floyd, Virginia and took on a two-year apprenticeship with potters Donna Polseno and Richard Hensley. In the fall of 2014, she received the opportunity to travel to Italy and attend to La Meridiana as a studio assistant. In the summer of 2015, she moved to Philadelphia, PA, where she currently works as a Teaching Artist and the Ceramics Studio Coordinator at Main Line Art Center.
