Cocoro Kambayashi is a Japanese-American illustrator based in Pennsylvania with a focus on picture book illustration. She received her BA in Studio Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 2024 and her MA in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2025.
Cocoro works in digital and analog mediums, including painting, drawing, and mixed media. Her work explores identity, culture, fashion, and whimsical storytelling. Cocoro aspires to work in publishing for book illustration, writing, and design for young readers.
Her favorite picture book illustrators include Matthew Forsythe, Felicita Sala, and Kaya Doi! Outside of art, she enjoys collecting cute stationery, cool vintage clothing, visiting indie bookstores, and walking her dog.
