Marsiella is a ceramic artist, teacher, and the studio coordinator at the Art Center. She graduated from Penn State University with a BFA in Ceramics and Art History in 2011. After graduating from college, she took a few years molding her identity with clay. These influences included opportunities at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Peters Valley School of Craft, and La Meridiana Ceramics School in Italy. In 2013, she completed a post-baccalaureate at Clemson University where she learned more about glaze materials, kiln firings, and community engagement. Soon after, she had the wonderful opportunity to take on a two-year studio apprenticeship with ceramic artists/potters Donna Polseno and Richard Hensley in Floyd, Virginia. In the summer of 2015, she moved to Philadelphia, PA, where she continues making functional or decorative pottery.

Marsiella’s favorite artists are Beatrice Wood, Betty Woodman and Yayoi Kusama.
