Main Line Art Center is proud to present the paintings of Professional Artist Member Andrea Snyder in the Welcome Gallery February 14, 2018 – March 25, 2018. Andrea Snyder, BFA, cum laude Tyler School of Art, MFA program NYU with additional studies at Wharton, University of the Arts, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, is a prize-winning printmaking & collage artist who has exhibited in the United States and Great Britain in multiple venues. She has taught art classes at University of the Arts, Main Line Art Center, Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia School District, The American School in London and the American International School in Zurich as well as, taught craft marketing at the Crafts Center in Maryland, the Nova Scotia Designer Craft Council, Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design, and the South African & Canadian consulates. Her earlier art was welded steel rods & polymer coated “anti-furniture” and large multi-plate etchings, but a bad back led her to combine multiple mediums in collaged abstracts on paper, canvas, and Mylar. In addition, she works in high shrinkage fibers to create creatures out of handmade paper and pounded Kozo fibers.
