Experience the MAGIC of fire. In this hand building course, you will watch weekly demos to help bring your ideas to life as you create, glaze, and then fire pieces in our Raku kiln. Raku firing is an ancient Japanese technique that creates unique finishes every time. You will learn how to take a piece from the kiln while still glowing red hot and then place it in a material that catches fire, reducing the oxygen and producing beautiful finishes.
Please note that, if you are a wheel thrower, you can bring wheel thrown pieces to alter. You will not be able to throw during this class, only alter previously thrown pieces.
