Explore the rich reds of Peruvian cochineal, one of the most prized natural dyes in the world. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to prepare fibers and paper, extract dye, and create a range of beautiful hues using traditional techniques.
We will cover the history and cultural significance of cochineal, demonstrate dyeing and natural fibers, and guide you through your own experiments.
No experience needed. Come away with color samples, new skills, and a deeper appreciation for this ancient, Andean dye.
