Take on a range of creative painting prompts designed to spark intuitive responses, such as painting a song, painting a childhood memory, and creating work using mark-making tools. Explore how to cultivate a curious and reflective approach to painting. Practice key concepts such as composition, color theory, and oil painting techniques.

 

Student Supply List:

• A basic oil paint set that contains:  
  
  • Titanium white (200ml tube)  
  • Cadmium yellow light  
  • Cadmium red  
  • Ultramarine blue  
  • Burnt/raw sienna  
  • Raw/ Burnt Umber  
• A paint palette  
• Oil paint brushes of various sizes. At least one big (1.5” and above) brush.   
• Linseed oil or Liquin (medium)
• Turpenoid or Gamsol (thinner/ brush cleaner)  
• One metal palette knife (2-3 in.)  
• 5 pre-stretched canvases or wood panels (at least 8×10 in.). Buying a pack of 4-6 is recommended for cost-effectiveness. Some differently sized canvases are also good.   
• Additional material as needed (collage materials, paper, gloves, etc.)
