You’ve drawn and painted before…or not! All that matters is you’re interested in exploring your own creativity through painting and drawing. Have you ever tried watercolor? It’s not so easy for beginners, is it? There is not much room for mistakes. Here we have fun with it, building confidence as we go. We spend the first weeks with just pencils, learning basic drawing skills such as line weight, proportion and composition. Next we introduce monochrome aqueous media (brown watercolor) to reinforce our drawing skills.
The instructor will give various demos on basic techniques as we move into color washes with the pallet colors. Be prepared to bring in source material such as a photograph or painting you want to paint. Come join the fun in a supportive environment, where we learn, grow, and gain confidence drawing and painting together! During the course of the class, the instructor will plan a field trip to the museum with all classes, growing as a community within a collection of master paintings.
We discuss materials the first class, there is no need to bring watercolor supplies on this night.
