Artist Statement
My non objective oil, mixed media paintings, and encaustics reflect my involvement with the process of creating art. I am not motivated with rendering what I see, but am challenged to express my reaction. I often work in series which offer both a challenge and freedom to explore. Recent series have focused on the circle, prayer flags, and the repetition of dots and dashes.
However, my delight in color endures as a motivating force, The soul is nurtured by art (Hans Hoffman).
