Panorama Feature Exhibition: Enlightened Earth
September 10 – November 5, 2016
GET THE DIGITAL GUIDE
Enlightened Earth presents works by
Mark Dorf (New York),
Julianna Foster (Philadelphia), and
Nick Pedersen (Burlington, NJ) that engage the photographic medium and digital media to explore nature and our complex relationship to its past, present, and future. Motivated by environmentalism, fascination with photography’s subjectivity, and the dominance of the digital domain, these artists investigate the delicate imbalance of nature, technology, and humanity. Their work leads us down a path of multi-layered, multi-media discovery through storytelling, fantastical landscapes, scientific research, and dreams.
Enlightened Earth is part of
Panorama 2016: Image-Based Art in the 21st Century, a celebration of the photographic image and digital media and their expansive roles in contemporary mediums like digital photography, printmaking, video, film, animation, and gaming design. Anchored by featured exhibition,
Enlightened Earth, and a dynamic and interactive evening
festival at Main Line Art Center, the 2-month happening features physical and virtual exhibitions, lectures, and educational programs led by accomplished artists who utilize digital technology to deliver the unexpected. To view all Panorama programs,
