Have you ever wanted to try oil painting but did not know where to begin? Does the thought of oil paint sound intimidating? It does not have to be. Oil painting can be a very approachable medium for beginners, and all you need are a few simple steps to get started.
In this class, you will begin with a monochrome painting using just one color, which allows you to “draw” with the paintbrush as you study the lights and darks of a simple still life. This approach helps you build confidence while getting a feel for the medium and learning how oil paint works. You may be surprised by what you can accomplish.
This class is the first in a two-part series, so come join the fun. During the course of the class, the instructor will also plan a museum field trip for all classes so you can learn and grow together while spending time with master paintings.
