In this final section of our journey through the iconic book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, we will conclude with a focus on light and shadow. Shading is an extremely satisfying, fun and beautiful aspect of drawing. Explore different shading techniques by copying masters, trying out different materials and techniques and by experimenting with shading from life. In addition to tonal drawing, we will continue to explore the other perceptual skills of drawing as outlined by Betty Edwards: edges, spaces, relationships, and gestalt. All of these make up the grammar of drawing.
