Zachary Inkeles is a Philadelphia native, but he spent most of his life in Denver, Colorado and Los Angeles, California before returning to pre-COVID Philadelphia. He studied under Denver-based artist Michael Gadlin where he explored Abstract Expressionism using acrylic paints and gel mediums with collage. He also was artist-in-residence at Access Gallery in Denver, which is part of Very Special Arts, where he worked on collaborative community art projects. In Los Angeles, Zach developed an interest in puppetry, an artform he hopes to broaden as part of his residency at Main Line Art Center.
In addition to visual arts, Zach is an aspiring children’s author. He has written several as yet unpublished stories and plays, which he hopes to develop into published works.
Zach has worked on disability advocacy projects, and is hoping that his exhibition can speak to some of the issues facing the disability community.
He is honored to have been selected as an artist-in-residence at Main Line Art Center, and is excited to be working with Jessica Curtaz.
