Alicia was born in Santiago, Chile, where she she received her master’s degree in visual communication. She then spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. As an accomplished practicing artist and art educator, she has exhibited in numerous art exhibitions around the world. Alicia founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008, Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teach art.
In 2009, she became a member of the 3rd Street Gallery and for the last two years she has held solo and group shows with many other local artists at Cerulean Gallery. In 2017, she had the honor to participate in the prestigious “Capturing Realism” biennale held at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
Currently, she is teaching at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Atlantic Cape Community College, Fleisher Art Memorial, and Main Line Art Center. Alicia is also the Art Director at COMHAR agency for individuals with mental illness and disabilities.
