In partnership with Project H.O.M.E. (Housing, Opportunities for Employment, Medical Care, Education), for over 5 years Main Line Art Center provided an after-school arts enrichment program every Friday for the children living in the Strawberry Mansion community. Classes were held at the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs run by Project H.O.M.E. The program served children in grades K-12 and augmented the education-based assistance Project H.O.M.E. provides for the students.
Projects included: clay, self-portrait tiles, sewing, bookmaking, bags, figure silhouettes, drawing, painting, printmaking, beading, doll making and much more. The arts programming is another way to meet the needs of at-risk youth and have them remain connected to caring adults in a creative and nurturing environment.
